For the second time the top 16 in the quaterly ranking battled it out on the tables in Porton de Piedra. For me it was quite a scary start: I had trip 2's (with pocket 2's) in the first hand and made a sizable bet of 1000, David Buchanan calls me with pocket Q's..., he gets a Q on the turn, he checks, I check and after the river puts in a bet of 2000... I call and lose. My luck was here that there was a possible straight which kept David a bit back... Still after 1 hand my stack was halved! I really thought that this tournament would go down the tubes for me!
The action didn't stop there on table 1... hand two and three depleted David Pierce's stack so much that he had to go all in on hand five...fortunately he won that hand (and a few others) so that by hand 8 he was chip leader on our table!
On table 1 the blood was flowing freely...
Alec Hastings and Ted Midson went both out very early (the finalists of the Campoker Trophy Tournament in December!!!) which made Alan Fresle chip leader at that table!
David Buchanan's aggressive style did not pay of this time and he went out 3rd on table 1.
Ivan got knocked out of table 2 and therefore to balance the tables we of table 1 saw our chipleader David Pierce go table 2 (gladly I think), so we could get down to serious poker...
A hour later David was out of chips, moved Alan with a huge stack to table 1.
And me? I was hanging on... barely i must add. Managed to get some chips back by rasing pre-flop on a hope and following up with a big bet...
Next out was Phil which moved the remaining 9 players to table 1.
Down to poker-business:
Jo out 7th, Christine out 8th.
My turning point came when in late position I raised PF 4000 with pocket 8's......Duncan on the button raised me to 8000......I gulped, did a quick prayer and called. On the flop 10 high, I check and Duncan puts 400 in for my last chips! ALL-IN! Duncan turns over AA......I thought the tourney was over for me!
The poker-gods had mercy on my, for on the turn came another 8 and no Ace on the river, so I'm back!

and Alan and Kevin out on the same hand as 10th and 11th.
The final table with Duncan, Frank, Lewis, Paz and me in the money positions. Paz had the biggest stack since the first half hour of the tournament!
The last leg of the tournament took 1 hour and 45 minutes with the chips going back and forth... At on time Lewis was massive chip-leader and I really thought that 1 would come in 5th or with a bit of luck 4th...
But with poker you never know! Duncan and me went both all in at one time...fortunately we both had JJ's so still respite!
Lewis took 20.000 of my chips with a straight flush on the flop, which he very well played out!
I had some great hands which put me in front of the pack again. Duncan was forced all in on the BB with a 6-3, I called on the SB with 8-4 and caught a 8.
Duncan out 5th....
Paz and Lewis slugged it out a couple of times as SB and BB, chips flew back and forth between those two and Paz had to concede defeat as 4th.
Lewis short stacked on SB with me on BB. Lewis calls, I raise him all-in, he calls with 66 but ran into my AA.... exit Lewis in 3rd...
By then the tournament had lasted 5 hours... Frank and me were reasonably even stacked (he was in front though!) but we called it a night by splitting the pot!
Another great night for the Campokerclub, with great players, great and exiting plays and a wonderfull atmosphere!
